1947 to 2007

Cecil Wayne DeLaney, Jr., 60, of Bloomington, died Thursday, July 12, 2007 at 3:40 p.m. at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal, Illinois.
Cecil was born March 18, 1947 in Marshall, MI, a son of Cecil DeLaney, Sr. and Dorothy Kooistra DeLaney. He graduated from Marshall High School and joined the Air Force shortly thereafter. Cecil served from May of 1966 to December of 1969 and attained the rank of Sergeant. After his discharge from the Air Force, Cecil attended Nazareth College in Kalamazoo, MI and graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Accounting. Cecil was a member of the Claude E. Hale VFW in Marshall, MI and had been the Past Post Commander there. He also was a member of the Marshall Moose Lodge #676 and the Marshall Country Club. Cecil was employed with State Farm Insurance Company for seventeen years as a staff auditor, coming to Bloomington in 1985. Cecil was an avid golfer and craps player, enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a world traveller. He enjoyed living life and its many pursuits but his wife Bianka and son Brandan were the most important people in his life. He worked hard to provide for them and loved them dearly. Cecil married Bianka Pytlowany on October 2, 1971 in Marshall; she survives.
In addition to his wife Bianka and son Brandan, both of Bloomington, Cecil is also survived by two sisters, Lynda (John) Walbeck and Patricia Burch, both of Marshall, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents.

We're so sorry for your loss and our loss of a great friend. I will so miss the phone calls on the weekends from Wayne. We discussed our gambling strategy and the great trip out West.
Those memories mean so much to me and I will always remember you Wayne as a good friend.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Wayne was a special person and will truly be missed.

My memories of Wayne go way back to the 1970's. I remember Dad and Wayne playing cards, going to meetings at the VFW anf the memorial day parades in Marshall. He was a good man and patriot. He will be missed.

What great friends you and Bianka were and are. We enjoyed you so much. The trips to Vegas, card playing and just hanging out together. You always made things fun.
Of course we can't hear the song " We are the Champions" with out thinking of you (whenever you were on the winning side) when playing cards.
You will always be remembered and loved.
